HI guys. My first question is about a chuck for my Delta Midi Lathe. I'm looking at the Nova Midi from LV - cat pg. 54. Has anyone had any exp. with this one and is it OK? Next topic...I have the Delta as I said and really like it. It gets good reviews. The General Int is nice too. It was over $400 when I bought my Delta or I would have got it. Haven't used the others so I can't comment. Third topic...I read about all the shop teachers named Miller. My last name is Miller and I taught shop for 24 yrs. in Alberta. The guy I replaced in Red Deer was Miller too. It must be the last name or something. His nickname as a kid was "dusty" Miller He ran a Beaver Lumber yard for 30 yrs.
That's where I got my love for the smell of sawdust.

Scott - if you can see your way clear for a bit more money, I would go for the Oneway Talon or Nova with single key. I have an old Oneway with the levers and they work, but are inconvenient. All-in-One Wood sell Talon for same price as the Super Nova.

If I were to buy (another) chuck I would get one with a single key. The Nova Midi is probably OK for the money but it was never a top-rated chuck. That said you might find it quite satisfactory.

I have Oneway chucks.

I must have missed something when I visited LV - IS the oneaway the only one key chuck?

Thanks for the responses. Maybe this question is a little redundant but here goes: I went to House of Tools today and the guy there really likes their Canwood version of the chuck. Any opinions on that one? (just trying to save some $$$ is possible) Gord - there is a one key model called the super nova that is made by Tecknatool at LV as well as the Oneway.
