I am just starting to get to know my hand tools very well
I have my grandfathers old tools... a couple of planes, yankee screwdrivers, egg-beater type drill, another hand drill with different sized drill bits (not the twist type, looks like a pilot hole bit selection) and so on.
Thanks to this new section of the forum (hand tools), I am getting more and more interested and have started playing (err, using) my hand tools
Question is, I have two planes, both Stanleys that date back to the 50's or 60's and the one is a #5, but the other is a block plane that just says "Stanley" on it... is there anyway of knowing what it is? Is there just one Stanley block plane? I know they have the jointers, and the #4, 5, etc., but what about for the block planes???
Any info would be appreciated!
Thanks again to all for giving me a new appreciation for handtools!!!
