View Full Version : Block Plane Camber
Do you put a camber on your block plane iron, and if so, how much.

No I don't. I really try to make the blade perfectly square.

I don't either, at least on my low-angle block; it's straight across. That's because I use it mostly as a fitting plane.
I do however use finger pressure on the sides of the blades, like I do on my smoothers, when I sharpen my 9 1/2 (standard-angle block), because I use it as a little smoother. But the camber is very small, maybe half a thou across the blade.
