Oil Poly over Water poly

Hi Folks.

Great forum - I am relatively new to this forum and am enjoying reading through the past posts.

A quick question please. I would like to know if I can add an oil based polyurethane over a water coat of water based poly. I believe you can, but I wanted to verify before I get myself in a whole mess. I think it's the other way around that you can't (ie. water over oil)

Phil: Yes you can, but make sure you sand lightly first.

yes you can poly over almost anything, and the other way around.

lacquering over poly is another story
