View Full Version : Delta 20" Scroll Saw
I purchased a 20" Delta scroll saw "Series 2000" some time ago and had not used it much. Lately I needed to use it to make a small sign for my Grand-son. When I was cutting out the letters I noticed that the blade is not lined up vertically. When cutting a piece all the way through, this is not a problem but when having to stop and change directions, I noticed that while the top cut is finished the bottom is not quite completed (about 1/8' out). Thinking that this could be a problem I took it into a warranty service depot only to be told that there are no adjustments that can be made on the saw. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem as well and how critical is this. Is there a way around it?
As always thanks for the feedback.

1/8" sound like a lot. I have the same saw and I don't have that problem. Most scroll saws are not vertical through the whole cutting stroke away. When I get home this evening I will have to check that out. Are you able to move the blade forward or back in the blade holders? That might help.

I have the Delta SS350. I find, as mentioned above, there is considerable leeway in the blade clamp. I suppose if you had the top set too far back and the bottom too far forward, you could get an eight of an inch. When I check mine with a square, I'm usually less than a sixteenth. Practice, maybe?
I just got it back today from the service center I will take a closer look at it tomorrow and hopefully the problem is due to my inexperience rather than with the saw itself. Thanks
