In the local paper there is a 24" Grizzly drum sander for sale.It has dual drums , 5 hp main motor with a smaller feed motor .Claims to be in very good condition. Asking $1500 .
Anyone know anything about these beasts?? Mark

See the link at the bottom for G1066 dual drum sander.
I looked into some used grizzly equipment a while back and heard on some forums that they wouldn't ship equipement or even parts into Canada.
Their website says no catalogues to Canada.
I sent them 3 emails trying to find out if they would ship parts into Canada and no reply. So I would be leary.
I picked up a Kuster Woodworking 24" drum Sander that I have been rebuilding. It was in rough shape but I picked it up for next to nothing. Kuster is long gone but in my quest I have traded emails with Kuster owners who tell me Grizzly parts will fit (if you can get them LOL).
I have it all rebuilt except it has a 3 phase motor and I need to either replace this or buy or build a phase converter...

Grizzley and Craftex (from Busy Bee) are supplied by the same overseas company. I believe their parts are interchangeable. Try this site: www.busybeetools.com (http://www.busybeetools.com).

These are different units for sure...
Rubber drum on craftex vs aluminum on Grizzly
Feed belt mechanisms are different.
Two speed and reverse on craftex.
Craftex has a door on front where motor is mounted on the grizzly.
My guess would be that the Craftex could be a new model as the grizzly is very close to the old Kuster I have and that is very old.
Of course Grizzly = $995 US and the Craftex = $2099 Canadian

Thanks for the input. Looks like maybe I'll pass on this one.The last thing I need is a big hunk of machinery I can't get parts for. Mark
