I'm out here on the wet coast in Victoria and can't find an outlet for "Flying Dutchman" scroll saw blades. Can anyone help locate a Canadian Source, preferably one on the net so I can order online?
Another question regarding my Dremel scrollsaw. It seems when using non pinned blades the lower holder comes loose after approx 10 minutes of cutting. Any suggestions.
Any one who has the model 1680 Dremel saw should be aware there is a problem with the switch. Dust gets in and the switch won't work. I called Dremel and they sent me a new switch in 4 days, from Wisconsin to Victoria. Amazing.

There is no other distributor for Flying Dutchman blades . You have to get them from Mike Moorlach at www.mikesworkshop.com (http://www.mikesworkshop.com)
He has the best blades available according to the majority of scrollers and once you've tried them, nothing else will do.He will send you a few free samples to try and his service is FAST with no S/H charges. Don't worry about the exchange rate. His prices and quality make them well worth it.

I've been told that Dremel recently improved the design of their scrollsaw's power switch, by adding a rubbber dust cover, and that all machines with this new switch are designated 1680-II. If that sounds familiar, then I guess that's what you now have.
You must not be the only person who had trouble with the switch.

If you blow out the switch with compressed air and loosly tape latex glove material over it, your problems are over. I own a DeWalt scrollsaw and some of the guys had the same problem. I use a foot switch all the time so my saw switch never gets used and I have never had a problem with it.

Keith.
I made my own a few years ago. You can see it from workshop on my homepage. It cost about $10.00 for parts. Busy Bee has one for sale right now for just $15.99 so it would hardly pay you to make one.
