Ridgid has a muffler for its shop vacs that sells for $15. Just wondering if anyone else has tried it and how well it works.

I have one. It works a little bit. You can definitely hear a difference when you put it on, but it still doesn't make the vac quiet. I still need my earmuffs if I'm going to run it for very long. The problem is the noisy motor, not the exhaust air. Their muffler does nothing to quiet the shreaking motor.
It's main value is that I can point the exhaust blast in whatever direction I want. This is useful sometimes to avoid blowing things around, so I kept it.
