I have just put a stock feeder on my shaper and am having trouble getting it to hold the wood against the fence. I have the lead roller about 1/4" closer to the fence than the trailing roller (in accordance with the instructions), but the trailing end of the stock keeps moving away from the fence. What am I doing wrong?

Are you putting enough pressure on the wood? I ajust mine so there is only 1/8 to 1/4 inch clearance between wood and feeder body. The wheels will swing up as they are spring loaded.

I have found that the front to back and side to side pressure on the rollers affects the direction of feed.

Make sure you ajust the feeder to sit flat on the table first. If the back end is higher than the front there will be less pressure on stock, letting it slip.
