View Full Version : The start of a shop *LINK*
I have started to remodel my garage into a "shop" for lack of a better word, as time and more importantly finances allow. I have read so much wonderful information from this forum, I thought I would share what I can. Feel free to comment, give me an email at thegododin@yahoo.com

Fred, you should have seen my garage....I mean shop...16 years ago. you'll find things will come in their time. If I can make a recomendation..cut a hole in that second workbench and fit the delta benchtop flush into it. That'll give you acres more support for any cutting job. You can even make it removable/replaceable so you still have surface area. good luck and work safe!

Fred, here's how I solved the problem of an uneven and shifting cement pad. The bench and drawer unit are completely seperate. The bench mounts to the wall so it stays put.
The drawer unit is built as a standalone unit, enough smaller than the opening under the bench to allow for lots of floor movement. It is built rigidly enough that it doesn't matter whether it sits plumb or square .. the drawers never bind no matter how much the floor moves.
I should take an updated picture. Since I took this one, I've moved the bench to a different wall (easy to do .. another advantage to this approach) and built another drawer unit under the left half of the bench.
