View Full Version : TS allignment problems
Hi all, Quick question. I've been fixing up a delta contractors saw (36-320c) i picked up at an auction for $75.00. Replaced the motor and a couple of other small pieces. but am having one hell of a time getting the saw blade lined up and parallel with the miter slots. come close but ....
So the actual question is, what is the recommended tolerance for the blade being out of parallel? is going for 0 asking too much?
Thanks.

Gord; I set mine to absolute 0. Some guys like a little(10tho)tailout(wide at the back of the blade) but no tailin is acceptable. You may have to open up the slots in the trunions to get the required adjustment but that would be a last resort. Russ

Gord,
Make sure that the large rods tying the front and rear trunuions together are parallel. To check, lay something flat (like a piece of glass) across them. If they are parallel, the glass will sit flat, if not it will rock back and forth.
Even a small misalignment of the rods will make a big difference in blade alignment. I just went through this with my GI contractors saw.
Cheers

Gord, someone posted a link to an article "Table Saw Setup" by Delta, within the last six months. I printed it out and put them with my TS manual. Perhaps the original poster can give us the URL again.
Best Regards, Ron.

Ron, Thanks for the link. looks like I got some work to do.
Might as well do the proper setup and tune it now. BEFORE my bad allignment causes an accident or kickback etc.
Once again.... Thanks.
