Hi all,

Today the pulley that's on the blade shaft in my TS came off. I'm not sure why but in any case I will have to take the TS apart in order to put this this thing back in properly (mother nature gave big hands so no chance to put it without taking the TS apart). Since I'll take it apart I think it's a good opportunity to clean and grease up the internals (I've never done it before). So here's the question, what should I use? The manual says something like grease nr. 2 which I'm not sure what it is. I also remember people in this newsgropup talking about some powder graphite?
Should I clean everything up first with something?
Can somebody that have done this walk me thru the proper procedure?

Thanks a lot!!

Alberto; Clean the sawdust off of everything, use a wire brush where you can(to clean threads etc.) Remove all grease and/or oil and spray all threads ,gears, pivot points etc. with GRAPHITE LUBE spray that you get from Canadian Tire. This stuff is really messy so be careful. When you put your pulley back on check the Key for damage(replace if damaged) align both pulleys with a straight edge, then tighten the set screw in the pulley untill it's " Red Faced Tight". (borrowed that saying from Dave Wooland). Thats about all there is too it. Good Luck. Russ

Alberto... About the grease #2 you questioned.
THe number in the NLGI number and basically tells how thick a grease is 0,1,2,3 with 0 being the next thing to oil & 3 is thick as heck.
Look on the back of a grease cartridge at CTC sometime and you'll notice somewhere a NLGI#_ on it. #1/#2 is a common range for what you'd grease your car with.

The graphite Russ mentioned won't allow dust to stick to it like grease does. I use it on my router plunge rods and it works fine.
