Hi guys,

As some of you may remember some time ago (I think many months now) I was looking for cast iron wings for my TS. At that time I found out that JET canada wouldn't sell me those since they only sell them in the states. Buying them from the states was incredible expensive so I had to get creative. A week ago I bougth two brand new wings for the King TS for Can $110 (taxes included) and put them on the JET. The only modifications required where changing some botls, adding some spacer whashers here and there and some minor drilling. Result, they look like the originals :)
I've also added the hooks for the fence and miter bar that HD sells for the Ridgid TS to my JET. Pefect fit.
Finally, I replaced the miter bar for the Fasttrack one.

All in all I still dream about a nice cabinet saw but meanwhile I'll keep souping this baby up as much as I can. Next in the list, some tweaks to improve the dust collectionand some axiliary tables....

If any other cannuck is stuck with the same problem I'll be glad to provide more info.

Alberto,
Sometimes being innovative yields a better (and more economical) result.
I'm also needing to upgrade my mitre gauge. Can you give me a little more info on the Fasttrack. I haven't heard of that one before. Thanks.
Mike

Take a look at the link. It's kind of expensive but I like it. What I really like about it is the accuracy and repetability. 90 deg. is always 90 deg.. The one that came with the saw, it's not terrible but the stops for the different angles where a piece of metal that flexed so I had to check it and recheck again every time with a square. No traces of that problem with this one. I've also added to it a piece of dual purpose track and a stop with micro-adjustment. Result, a miter bar way better than the one I had (that now leaves with the bandsaw :)
