For those who have built their cyclones already, what did you use to seal the joints? I seem to recall someone on this forum mentioning some product a while back.

Thanks in advance.

I used primerless urethane adhesive from a windshield installation place.

But a word of caution....NEVER PAINT IT AFTER IT HAS BEEN APPLIED!!!

...because it'll remain sticky after that.

Always check to see if the product you are using can be painted over before bringing out the can of spray paint.

Good luck!

Hi Ron
I used a product called Hi temp sealer. That is sold at a real heating & plumbing outlet. The only problem is it only comes in gallon cans $$$$ I asked the sales guy if he had any open cans.He didn;t One of the heating contrators In line asked what's a painter want that sealer for? I said it;s for my D.C. pipeing (MY LUCKY DAY)He's a woodwork to.He had some in his truck I could have. You just put this sealer on with an old paint brush let dry for a few days. Then you can paint it if you want.sorry for rambling on

I used PL Premium polyurethane glue in the caulking tubes. Has not lifted off like silicone and Draftstop do. Lots of foil tape was used on all the duct seams.

Go to an HVAC distributor and asl for a product called "DUCT SEALANT". It's designed for sealing galvanized duct work. It appears red in colour (Like red oxide primer) and is acetone based. It dries VERY quickly and stays flexible.
Sold in small caulking gun tubes (may also be sold in gallon cans but I'd hate to use it that way (helluva mess!).
