Now that I'm playing with my new M. Meter I'd like to know what a reasonable moisture level is for summer time?

My wood (all air dried) measures about 8-9% MC as stored in my garage and about 7-8% MC in my shop (above the garage). I'd say that it's all "dry" and reached equilibrium by these readings.

Do I need to worry about a 1 or 2% difference in MC or is it still necessary to bring the 8-9% MC lumber upstairs to let it sit until it gets to 7-8%?

Tks.

That will be fine. Anything under 10 is very acceptable.

Check out the link below. It gives a little insight into wood moisture content.
