Hi,
I bought the Ryobi BS900 band saw( 9") and I was wondering if anyone could tell me any tips or tricks in order to corectly tension the blade. This is a dangerous tool and I don't want to make any mistakes. In the instuctions it says you should be able to push the blade with gradual firm finger pressure but I don't know how much that really should be.
Any help would be muchly appreciated.

Tighten the blade up tight. Then start backing it off VERY SLOWLY until it just starts to flutter. Then tighten it two complete turns.

Here are some instructions (basically what Bill said) http://www.suffolkmachinery.com/sixrules.html

Also, don't be afraid of the BS, it's one of the safest machines in the shop (way safer than the TS I think).
