does anyone know where, in the Montreal area, I can find aniline dyes in particular, and a good source for any finishing products?

I'm probably stating the obvious but you could always mail order from Lee Valley if you're looking for waterbased dyes.
If it's NGR dyes you want I found pre-mixed jugs@ Randalls paints in Ottawa so look for industrial paint suppliers in your area and you should be able to find them. The NGR dye from them was expensive and only came in gallon jugs.
One other thing, Jeff Jewitt (the finishing guru)sells them over the net through www.HomesteadFinishing.com (http://www.HomesteadFinishing.com), both waterbourne & NGR powders. He now has a distributor in Canada you might want to look them up.
Good luck.
