I have some armoured cable (14-2) I want to use to wire up an outlet in my garage specifically for the door opener. I know how to wire it with little trouble, the question is, how do you strip this stuff back without completely destroying the cables or your fingers? Is there a special tool for this? I assume I also would need screw in connectors to attach it to the box?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Hey Ken , first bend the wire once and then hold the cable with both hands and twist back to open a section of cable and cut with side cutters. Yes you need to attach with proper B/X connectors.Hope this helps. Good luck.

Don't forget that you will also need the plastic anti-short bushings. These are inserted into the open end of the cable to prevent the insulation from being cut by the edges of the armour.
