Hi all,
I read a few notes from Rene and others about lumber gloats. It reminded me of a company that is recovering logs from the bottom of the Ottawa River. The site has historical photos and an explanation of how Ottawa (Bytown) grew out of the lumber business.
Check out the site at http://www.logsend.com/ for some great pictures in the gallery and history sections. The site is slow to load and you'll see a site map/directory in the upper left corner once the page loads.
It really is worth a look at the historical pictures. I think I'll jump in the Canadian Woodworking limo if I can find the driver and butler (Paul did you see them) and head down for a story and a few pics.
Regards,
Danny

kidding, Danny! I'd be very interested in reading this story for sure!

there's an American outfit doing the same thing and selling product for huge amounts of money. Maybe someone else knows that website..
