lacquer over water based stains?

Hi guys is it ok to spray an oil based lacquer over a water based minwax stain? Thanks.

Yes you can lacquer over water based stains. Let it dry 24 hours and than spray.

Thanks Roman somebody told me that the piece will turn white if you use oil based lacquer over water based stain. It's always worth a second opinion. Thanks again.

the stain has to be dry. Im not crazy about water based stains as they raise the grain but if you let them thoroughly dry you shouldnt have any trouble with lacquers.

Edmonton, Almost any Glidden paint supplier has access to lacquers. I can check for you and will reply if some one doesnt do it first.
