well the table is complete, and i really have to thank everybody who offered advice and encouragement
staining and finishing is well under way
so now its steam bending some parts for the chairs
the chairs require 2 parts to be bent, a bttom rail about 56 inches long bent to form a u shaped piece with a 19 inch diameter and 8 inch extensions beyond the bend
i'll try to post a plan later, its a pdf file about 6 pages long
here's a couple of pics of the steam setup and the bending jig, success is soso, advice is welcome
the steaming setup works really well it seems, well over 190 F and probably really close to 212 F, im using an oven thermometer in the top end but it only reads to 190
the lee valley bending set up is really cool, takes some of th stress out of the process. the first piece next to the jig was an early experiment now just used as an extension
im really new to steam bending, well actually a virgin, so advice would be greatly welcomed
