Great hunk of a saw for that price. Worse would be to move. Looks like a gear reducer on it also.

If that was within an hour I'd be on my way right now with the forks on the skid steer. Hard to believe that thing couldn't be made into prime working condition for under 1k. You'd never buy one remotely close for under 1k. Sounds like a steal. Wish it was closer.

That's one of the old beam mount bandsaws, the side mounts on a large vertical beam off the floor and at one time had a line shaft. I had a 30" old Canadian machine now I just have a 24" Wadkin which is just perfect for my shop. I was looking at a proper Robinson (British) 20" high resaw bandsaw the other day. It would need it's own seperate building but the price was right.

It's an H.W. Petrie and Co. 27". In really good shape - even the rubber is in good condition. The covers and stand were added later of course but nicely done. The motor is the size of a 10HP but is really only a 2HP - just built like a tank. Not sure why the gear reduction rather than a couple of pulleys but it cut a lot of wood for the previous owners from logs. Needs some paint but besides that a nice little saw .
