Spray System HVLP reccomendations

ok i am asking for your thoughts on a hvlp system. and why you like or use what yu do, also how do you get into tight areas like small cabinets ..outside work most any size works but inside tight spaces yu need something else, from what i have seen so far..and i need to get in to smaller ares than i can with my present time Gravity feed hvlp conversion gun.. what is your needle size prefernce for your work?

Most times if the cabinet is real small
I'll paint the parts , before putting them together
I spray just about everything
my needles go from .5 to 3.0 , using the 1.5 ad 2.0
the most , I use Turbinaires 1265's

For most jobs ( small items I make in my hobby shop, like coffee & end tables,doll furniture, etc ) I use a cheapo Wagner turbine I bought long ago. Plastic gun looks like the one with the PA turbine. I do have the optional needle set for it, but no idea the #, I think it was one size smaller than the standard set. For the occasional Large job I use an air assist airless system ( kitchen cabinets, beds, large cabinets, etc). Any cabinets that have to have the inside sprayed, I make the back panel removable. I occasionally spray poly or WB lacquer. 90% of the time , it's lacquer products.

i have a pressure pot system that i am tryun to get dialed in to work. it has a smaller overall size to it so i can get inside better.. byran has given me some insight on what i need to get it set up for lacquer and i thank him for his help.. need to check on the needle size.. wysong what are the different sized needles that yu have primary useage..never heard of a .5 that got to be some real fine liguide, dye maybe?

Where possible I prefinish. I think spraying in confined spaces/ cabinets is a nightmare plus if you have a problem its damn hard to refinish, rub back etc if its already a box etc. To answer your poll it also hugely depends on what you are actually finishing with - lacquer, latex etc

Get some large sheets of brown corrugated cardboard, excellent for checking the guns spray pattern. For test sheets to practice spraying on, get some 1/4" x 4'x8' luan floor underlay cut up into 2x2's. You also should have a spray table and a couple of shop made turn tables to work off of.

Get one of the so called "Touchup guns" from the manufacturers for the auto industry - Sharpe, SATA etc. Also available at Harbor Freight if that is the quality you want. The term Touch Up is misleading - on an auto it is that small area as you might define - a fender, door, etc. - on small cabinets inside tight areas etc. it is prefect. Add a 2 liter pot and it is a larger scale use such a making a bunch of small access cabinets as well as no cup. Needle size varies with make and model and paint product used.
