Cropping and reducing picture size for posting

ive used irfanview to reduce picture size for years, but i dont think i can crop pics with it

i understand that this can be done in ms paint shop

anybody want to tell me how?

You pick a point and drag the cursor to the opposite corner (a dotted rectangle will be drawn while doing this). When the box is there look in the edit? menu for crop.

In Irfanview, simply draw a rectangle around the part that you want, then do into the Edit menu, and select Crop Selection.

Use Picsa from Google , free download. I prefer it over my Canon software. Click export to resize, set it to 800 and it sends it to a new folder Picsa Exports. It's so easy to use. cropping, re touching, etc. too!

funny you should mention the canon software!!

we've had 5 or 6 digital cameras, and other than the first one, ive never even loaded the software onto my computer!!
