Dust and chips in cyclone filter???

So today I did a check of the dustpan on my Oneida cyclone (I check it infrequently because it's always empty). But today I find jointer/planer shavings in the pan. I look up and see that there is more in the filter.

The machine did not over flow, I've had the lid off a few times recently and I have the dust sentry level warning light.

Any thoughts as to what happend? I hate cleaning filter out!!!

I would guess that you have or had an air leak where your cyclone connects to collection barrell.

I second Brian's opinion - the top on my separator got knocked askew and the barrel emptied into the filter and bag in a heartbeat. I am much more careful now. FWIW

Thanks for the advise, I'll empty the bag put it back together and see what happens.
