Good god, that think is a death trap! Never mind the bucket, pliers, and using his foot to bypass the starter coil...but the switch is on the wrong side of the saw, and he's using the rip fence in conjunction with the mitre gauge.

I bet if his insurance ever saw this video, they'd cut him off in an instant!

Scary thing to watch. A starting capacitor is not that expensive that you have to go through those sorts of shenanigans.

Noticed the trapped piece of ply between the fence and the blade after he made his cut. A very good chance of a kickback which would have come pretty close to his little girl sitting in the kickback path.

Also noticed that he sure had a funny way of holding his stock while making his cut. Good chance of pinching the blade into the kerf if he is not successful with maintaing the workpiece against the mitre gage.

The students at school would not pass their saw practical test attempting his techniques.

Hi Dave, I admit my shop looks like a wreck, however I'm not that Rod.

Regards, Rod.

P.S. We've spoken on the phone when I was looking for a MiniMax planer/jointer.
