Wow, that router table thread was great! It got me thinking (especially since I'm looking for a new tablesaw), I'd love to see peoples' table saws. There are so many different setups (several router/tablesaw combos I see). The table saw is really the centre piece. So, let's see some pics, and hear some ideas and explanations of ideal setups, and the + and - of various setups.

The table saw is a 2005 General 650 Left tilt with Generals knock off of the biesmeyer fence. I use a Forest WWII blade and shark guard . I have a 4" DC line to the shark guard and 5" line to the saw cabinet.
The router table in the wing is a Veritas insert. |

You're not gonna be "Nekid" lookin' at these pics are you?
Never mind...I don't want to know. Here she is.... TS Excalibur, Merlin, Vac hose, Stop Swith for Router 002.JPE Still more stuff to be done to her. So far I've got the Excalibur overhead guard/chip collector, the Merlin splitter, and the Jessem sliding table. I've also set up my on/off switch to slide in the grove on the bottom of my Excalibur fence so as to be able to have at a location that is safest for each particular usage/operation. TS Sliding Switch 001.JPETS Sliding Switch 002.JPE The vac hose straddled across the top is hooked up to the DC and rests in the craddle I built for it fastened to my Excalibur overhead guard. It has it's own blastgate which I use to do quickie clean-ups around the saw. Delta Unisaw 36-829. At least that's what my nameplate says other than "Proudly Made In The U.S. of A.". Bought it about 5 years ago, but did not set it up until 2 and a half years ago. Kevin |

Here's mine. It's a King Industrial left tilt, set up at 220V, with solid cast iron wings. I use a shopmade zero clearance insert with a splitter, and I built a box that hangs on the side of the saw to hold the fence, extra blades, inserts, etc. I also ran some 1" steel square stock front to back under the rails, and added an outfeed extension. I had a local metal shop create aluminum mitre channel extensions, and filled in the right-side space with plywood and hardboard. It didn't cost a million bucks, I paid $600.00 for it, second hand, but I added the extras, and tuned it up, and I love the zing! when it fires up.

This is an Craftsman 22124...it's about identical to the new Steel City 35601. I slid the front rail to the right 10" and added a router table, along with augmenting the stock outfeed table. It's not as powerful as a big cabinet saw, but with proper blade selection there hasn't been anything I've struggled to cut. It's 425#, and is heavy and stable enough to support the router table, which houses either a Freud FT1700 or a MW5625. There's a rollout cabinet beneath the RT but it doesn't support it....strictly for DC and storage. Between the 44" of cast iron and the RT, there's a total width of about 66". The miter gauge shown is an Incra V27 with a Hartville fence....I also have a Jet/Woodhaven Deluxe, and an Osborne EB-3 in my crosscut sled. The splitter shown was made of stainless by my brother...it pops in and out pretty easily.

Well you've seen the best now here's the rest:lol:
I paid $499.95 for the saw and 2 aluminum extension in 1974, the first week I came to Canada. It was one of the usual Sears sales and I thought I was in heaven I swapped motors for a 2HP 220v after about a year. Until I did the makeover last year I was still using the original fence. This saw has built about 20 kichens, cut thousands of feet of mouldings and trim and 3 house renovations plus about 25 additions/renos for customers. It hasn't missed a beat, still runs with original V-belt and pulleys. Now with the new fence and extensions it is more in line with a cabinet saw, and hopefully will be the only saw I buy.Shop-Tune-Up.jpg As you can see along with the saw makeover there was also a little shop cleaning and re-arranging ![]() |

Thought I'd give this thread a "bump". Let's see those saws!
I was looking at sliding tables. What are peoples' opinions on these? pros and cons? C

I have the Jessem slider and love it. I'd say its the best upgrade to give a table saw. It just makes it that much more versatile. I use it alot when doing kitchens and other large panels for perfect square cuts.

Hi, a General 650 with an Excalibur overarm guard modified to fit a 31" rip capacity saw, with a Merlin splitter.
The other photo shows a fold up out feed table. Soon to be replaced by a Hammer B3 Winner..........Rod. |

Thread hijack,
Rod? The Rod from wreck.norm? The guy who maintains the Norms tool list? This is David Eisan, I always thought you were an American, not a guy who lives two hours from me. David. |

Delta 10" contractor - forgot the model number but That_Dave_Guy might know, he sold it to me! Currently fitted with a 60" Red-Line Fence, Ridge Carbide blade (amongst others), link belt, Micro Jig splitters mounted to a couple of zero clearance inserts for different blades. The Boot and 14"x14" dust collection plate directly under the saw that exits through a blast gate at the rear of the cabinet. The power switch is from Busy Bee housed in a plastic box I modified and uses the original switch's mounting arm. The left (short) wing is a downdraft sanding table. The right (long) wing now contains a Jessem Rout-R-Lift FX and my Craftsman 2hp and uses a Red-Line Router Fence. I have two Incra mitre gauges - a 3000SE for the saw and a V27 for the router.

i have a canadian edition unisaw which i prefer because of the over arm guard and the
delta dis appearing splinter . i also purchase the delyta rear fold down table as well, but it in 1988 as a demonstrator basically got the overarm guard free at the time. powered by a 3hp delta leeson motor. i recently put a tenryu gold medal blade on it. apparently it may even be better than a forest blade terry in niagara |
