Default Carved wands

Is very presumptuous of me to show my carving effort to great carvers that are members of this forum. But, I had fun today carving wands for my grandchilren to use on Halloween when they dress up as Harry Potter and Hermione Granger, so I am going to go ahead and show the wands.

Here are the wands:

Here, I am carving:

Hermione's wand for Isla -2 -small.jpg

One is made from poplar, one from cedar.

I was asked, via private email, how I placed the pattern's on the Harry potter wand. I burned it in with this wood burner:
