Ridgid R4511 Table Saw Recall

I just saw this thread on lumberjocks posted by kimnick and thought those of you who have this saw should be made aware of it - as a safety issue. If I've broke some rules by quoting a thread from another form then please delete the offending parts.

Does anyone in Canada actually even have this saw? (short of having imported it from the US?).

Don't get me wrong...I think it's great that you've posted this...I'm just upset that HD in Canada has decided not to bring in this saw. Soon, you won't be able to get a Ridgid TS in Canada.

That's strange because I have seen the new rigid saw at a couple of HD stores here in winniprg.

There's one on display in the Barrie Ontario store too, I was just looking at it.

How odd. I contacted Ridgid and they told me that they weren't going to be bringing the R4511 to Canada cause HD didn't want it...and everything I've read seems to corroborate this fact. Alas, I guess if you've seen it, then it's available. I stand corrected.

The saw is now in Canada. They have one in Scarborough for $799. It's not listed on the HD website (yet?). I checked and there are very few of the ts3660 model left in the local stores with none on order. I was told that the $599 is the "clearance" price, but they have been sitting at that for well over a year. Hope this helps any prospective buyers.
