It works pretty good. If the blade is really bad then it needs to soak for a while.

Dan, I soak my metal tools in both of the following with good results.

a) Simple Green - Walmart
b) Household BreadSoda

Carburetor cleaner also works well. It was recommended on one of the woodworking magazine sites.

Mine came from Canadian Tire.

I soak the blade in warm water and baking soda and then scrub it with an old toothbrush. It works very well.

I use Simple Green mixed with water for all the blades, router bits and sanding belts for drum sander or table top sanders. Does a great job.

Eh Dan its been my experience to keep cleaner around but I do find that with the meriad of different blades that using the right blade for the job nearly eliminates the need for cleaning.
It would appear from the numerous postings that LV sells a good product.

Best Regards Roman

Hi Vic,
Im intrigued!, what do you do with the Drum sander belts, I have 3 or 4 that are plugged solid. I tried the crepe and it doesn't remove any of it

Hi Paul,
If your belts are plugged solid I am not sure whether you'll be able to clean them 100%. Mix warm water and a stronger solution of Simple Green enough to cover the belt. Let it soak for 1/2 hour or longer if need be. Most of the pitch will fall off by itself. Use a hard bristle brush to remove the rest, rinse the belt and hang it to dry. Try and clean your belts when they get partially plugged. Out of five belts I only threw one out, and they are on fourth time around.
Hope this will help you out.

Vic

I am not sure if it was Vic but someone here recomended Simple Green to me. I mixed it 10:1 and let it soak for a few hours, I cleaned it with a scrub brush then hung it up and rinsed with the hose. The next day it looked like new. This was a 9' x 3" strip from my drum sander.
