I know this is kind of crazy but its all good

I have a shop that has a bare wall and was going to put up a woodworking saying for the fun of it… I came across a few and was wondering if anyone else had any good ones

    Thank You

    Re: Woodworking Sayings

If you do a google search for "woodworking sayings" you'll find a bunch of them. My favourite (and one I tend to ignore at my peril) is measure twice, cut once!! Another one I like is Norm Abrams "...and a couple brads to hold it till the glue dries."

Edit - You really, honestly, truly have a "bare wall" in your shop! You don't have enought clamps or something was stolen. I don't think I've ever seen any shop pics with a bare wall in them unless the bareness was essential for some other purpose although I don't know what!! I'd like to hang a dartboard in my shop (20 x 30 inside measurement) and I think I'll end up having to build a portable wall to put it on. All the rest are taken!!

          Someone has to say it.

          What's a Henway?

BTW, I have a lot of woodworking sayings ... but you wouldn't want to write them down.

I cut it again, and it's still too short!

              Re: Woodworking Sayings

There's a member on here that has a quote in their signature line, sorry can't remember who it is, but I believe it's a quote from Tage Frid saying something like, "Congratulations, you've just figured out the most complicated way to hold a board 3 feet off the ground." or something very similar.
              I like that one alot.

I don't know if he coined it or not, but Matt from "Matt's Basement Workshop" likes to say "fingers and thumbs, don't be dumb" as a safety reminder. Its kinda catchy...

Here is my favriot By a Poet named sharp

Isn't it strange how princes and kings,
and clowns that caper in sawdust rings,
and common people, like you and me,
                    are builders for eternity?
                    Each is given a list of rules;
a shapeless mass; a bag of tools.
And each must fashion, ere life is flown,
                    A stumbling block, or a Stepping-Stone.

Go get some magnetic labels made of your little image then. I'd like to order 8 right now for my current machines, but I'll need 1 additional for each purchase after that.
