I just missed another one closer to me that sold today for just $65, and it had a working motor plus the mitre gauge and fence.

That was my 65$ birthday present to myself. (The miter gauge.) Not sure if I'll keep the saw itself though.

back to the beaver 4200, i just noticed that the motor is fixed into the saw base, it doesnt tilt with the arbour like other cabinet saws and its mounted front to back instead of sideways
i guess tilt function is accomodated by the right angle gearbox

Ancient Beaver Lathe. I've never seen one like this before. It has the same decal as the Walker Turner's that were made for Beaver, or was it Beaver made for Walker Turner? Anyway it's pretty crude and belongs in a museum and not a workshop. $285

Exactly...right angle gear box...run run very far away, after fixing one three times...take the motor and fence and scrap the rest.

Re the Beaver lathe shown above, is the 5’ bed original or has it been put together with angle iron by an enterprising owner? No interest in purchasing, but the size/assembly caught my eye. Roy
