  • General 160 - Missing tailstock - WTB

    Hello!

New to the forum but hope to help where I can!

I recently purchased a General 160 sight unseen, yet it didn't come with a tailstock. I was wondering if anyone knew if there is one that would fit it or where I could possibly find a replacement (if there are any floating around)? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!
    Curtis

What’s the measurement from the centre of the headstock spindle to the lathe bed?

General is no more so you are sol for parts from them.

Yes I figured this would be tricky since General isn't around anymore.

From the top of the Lathe bed rails, I believe it's 6 1/4" to the center of the spindle.

If you find one that's 6 inch get Matt to make you a 1/4 inch adapter plate.

Try Ford Machinery and Mark’s Machinery as they both sell used General machines and parts

That is Marks Machinery I believe. By the time you bought the quill, handwheel cam etc. it would be a pricey item! Probably better use a delta tailstock for a 12'' model.
