  • beginner looking for turning blanks

    Looking for a variety of smaller turning blocks, for small bowls ect. Just starting to try turning. If you have some reasonably pieces please let me know any where within an hour of Kitchener.

    Try your firewood (or neighbour's) pile, and cut your own.

      Sometimes a municipality will have a "wood yard" where they take the remains of trees that they have removed. Maybe they'll let you pick from the piles?

              I often just toss small pieces in the fire pit. If you're ever in London, give me a message and you're free to raid the scrap bin.

                another great source is a local tree removal guy.
                my favourite is a young guy who is an employee of a local company, he sets aside pieces for me and calls me when he's got a few
                i give him a few bucks and we're both happy!
