  • Looking for dusty iron: Need a new used tablesaw. (Edmonton area)

Lurker here mostly, learning from people.

My brother-in-law decided that he wanted the the rockwell back. Now, it wasn't a fabulous saw, but it had a cast top, and a not unreasonable fence. Wings on both sides which made it more useful when cutting parts for anything bigger than a bread box. Two of us were able to load it in his pickup.

My fantasy would be to pick up an old Delta Unisaw. Probably not going to happen. Would like to keep the budget $500 to $800.

      Progress report:

I have a search on kijiji that sends me the 10 most recent posts with table saws for sale. So far they fall into two categories:

      * Table top or rolling stand contractor's saws. I've had that frustration before. No thanks.
      * Older rockwell beavers, often quite cheap. May end up this way if nothing better shows up.
      * Pro equipment at pro prices. $1500 to $4700 is too rich for my budget.

In correspondence with one guy I found on kijiji who buys old saws, cleans them up and resells them. He's a two hour drive away. That will wait until after the busy season on the tree farm has ended.
