Yeah, that is an awesome idea! Thanks.
Instead of looking for a thicker one i could just put it on top of the broken part and bend the ears to screw it to the old one. That cloud work as temporary measument!

That is an awesome idea but unfortunately my welding skills are none! I did think about both options and the second is most likely what im going to do! I also though about making one from Hardwood or from aluminum and also maybe brass. Either one of them its easy beacause its only cutting, filing and drilling! I already got all the measurements to make it.

I dont know if they are good ideas but they are something! What do you think?

Don't know if you've looked at it, but Lee Valley sells a Rikon 10" band saw. Rikon has a decent reputation.

Unfortunately i broke the Upper support bracket and it costly.
So, I was hoping that someone in the forum has the same bandsaw and has upgraded that part and has the old one collecting dust. If you do, I was wondering if you would like to sell it to me?

The attached picture shows the part!

    Please let me know!

    Thanks and kind regards,

I was just looking at the diagram of that part(page 28) I found online.
I'm wondering maybe it's possible to fabricate something out of some 1/2" steel and weld a piece of pipe to it, or just a bigger piece of pipe cut lengthways and bolted over the broken part ,, just thinking out loud..

the beaver would be the best of that lot, by a huge margin

the 2300 is actually a 12 inch, no plastic or potmetal, built to last a liifetime.

another option in the "antique" catagory and nearly as nice as the beaver is the craftmaster by henry power tools(london ontario)

the only disadvantage of the older saws is that the motor is mounted separately on the stand instead of the integral motor of the modern machines, so their not nearly as portable. on the otherhand you're not stuck with a crappy little motor either

i've had both, wish id kept the beaver!!
