  • Saw Etching Identification? Ruler at top?

    Hi,

I am hoping someone can help identify the maker of a saw that I have inherited. I have tried to take the best photo I can but it's quite difficult to make out (I don't want to clean for fear of removing it). Along the top of the saw is a tape measure and then there is an etching of what looks to be an elongated diamond logo. I think I can make out the letters 'R' and 'D' but I could be wrong there.

Does anyone know the maker of this saw?

    Thanks
    Andrew

Maybe the "Hard To Beat" combination saw from Wheeler Madden & Clemson ?, (National Saw Co catalogue 1895)

Wow Kiwi. Good detective work. I've not heard of that maker until now. But I think you nailed it.
