  • Stanley #95 Butt Gauge

Monday, I'll be hanging a new door in an old jam, so I went looking for my fleamarket find butt gauge. The deep pin is dull . Are they sharpened with the outside flat and the bevel on the inside? THX

Are you using the old square hinges?

Nay, I'm changing out a hollow core to a solid core and adding a dead bolt. It's a 100 year old community hall built by farmers. It'll be painted, so wood putty will fill the corners. There are times when a sharp chisel is much easier than a router.

You can still get square hinges. Maybe look for some ball bearing hinges.

For my door project, I got lucky at the fleamarket today ,I found a Stanley #702 vise https://www.google.ca/search?q=stanl...EJSsqE1c2F5pM:

They are clamped to a sawhorse and hold a door vertically
