    1 Smooth plane, 5 1/2"L, 1 1/4"W, 1 1/8lbs, 1869-1943.

                  As KenL said dont do anything with it untill you know, you could ruin the collector value.

                            Yes Wayne looks like you guessed right, .be very careful about cleaning and you might consider either parting it out or looking for a second hand casting , Believe it or not they do come up for sale occasionally. Be careful going at the sole hard as the frog screws and tote screws can appear through the sole

                              Neat find, I would not do any cleaning at this point, decide what you want to do with it first. Most people just put those on a shelf in a collection. Would be a great story of how you found one in the wild.
