  • Grrr, missed workbench

I will admit I sometimes battle to let things go, but this one has been bothering me particularly. I need a workbench. I have needed a workbench for years, but I always have reno projects, work, family or something that gets in at a higher priority. I do my woodworking with clamps on very unsuitable tables. A couple of days back I saw an Ulmia for sale for $250 http://www.usedvictoria.com/classified-ad/9705246

I emailed immediately and left work early (I have to catch the bus) to get my truck. By the time I got home I had two emails, one with a number to call, and a second one saying sold.

Oooh... painful. That which does not kill you makes you bitter.
    Better luck next time...

That was a real dinger to miss out on. Not many come available let alone at that price. I finally cast aside the honey do list and completed my own bench. Not regretting it one bit. Go for it.

      Very best,

Make your own. Out in BC you should be able to find douglas fir fairly easily I would think. Something designed along the lines of the LVL bench the folks at Woodworking magazine are building would go together quickly.

          Sweet deal for someone though.

            Doh! As Homer would say.

I need one as well, and like you, have no time for it. Feel better now?
