      Hmmm that's strange ...

Not sure why the links were from the US site, my book mark is for the Canadian one

Although they are not shown on the Canadian site I was able to find the links by an item number search.

Rob Lee replied to my inquiry on this as well on another forum. Apparently the updates to the Canadian site will be there shortly. They just did the US one first to correspond with the catalog release there...

Aww, now Lee Valley is selling hockey gear too, fueling another one of my obsessions !

Does anyone have any thoughts on whether they prefer using #3 or #4 smoothers, now that we have both bevel-up options from Veritas? Chris Schwarz prefers a #3, most people seem to own a #4.

              Darren,

The most logical answer is that it depends on the size of the work being planed.

There are lots of number 4 planes on the used market and relatively few number 3s so I have about 4 or 5 number 4s, set up for various functions (with two, including the straight-sided Veritas low angle no. 4, being set up as ultimate smoothers), while a old, Canadian Tire/British made no. 3, is set up as scrub plane.
If I need a smaller ultimate smoother, I go to one of my one hand block planes, of which I have "a bunch" as well.

              good luck
