  • Craftex 15” helical planner?

Any reviews or people with experience with this planner? I’m sure the 20” is the same. So if anyone can help me decide if I should spend the $3000 on this planer, that would be super helpful!!! Thank you!

Or if there is a better recommendation for a 15” planer

I have the 15" Grizzly and am very pleased with it as a hobby woodworker and it is the same machine with different colours. The only complaint I have is that snipe was really bad even adjusted as they recommended but I fixed that by lowering the bottom rollers so they were level with the bed and snipe is virtually gone.

Well, I got the planner and I’m a little disappointed to say the least. Brand new out of the crate/box and the entire table tilts from front to back! The planning table should not move at all imo... Anyone else have problems with a moving table? Not sure how to fix it? $3K and only to return it 2 or 3 weeks later

A better description of exactly what is happening with a picture or two, would allow someone who has one, to give you a more detailed answer as to were the problem might be. The most simple answer is your not locking the table front and back, The problem is this should not allow the table to move much, if that is not it, the problem could be much more serious, damaged elevation screws or nuts, or less serious like something is not tightened in place, again like the elevation screws. For an initial check have a good look at your manual and check those fasteners you can reach are tight, such as the bolts that attach nuts on the elevation screws to the table. And check that the table locks are working properly. In the pic. the table locks. If it is more serious than that, talk to Busy Bee, they may have run across this problem before, if something is broken insist on a replacement, not a part replacement, something else may have been damaged.

Do not attempt to fix anything! You had best deal with the seller on this. And quickly.
I am sure Busy Bee will move quickly to make it right.
The minute you start repairing yourself you may find yourself in difficulty. Take lots of pictures.

Yes, I agree with Don. If you assembled it yourself and know that you followed the instructions, then don't attempt any repairs or modifications. First call Busy Bee and calmly explain the problem. If as Don says you take pictures and maybe a video of the movement, Busy Bee may be able to watch them and walk you thru the fix on site. Otherwise, see what Busy Bee suggests fr return and repair.

Bottom line ... it's new ... other than assembly and setup, don't work on it without authorisation.

                        Re: Craftex 15” helical planner?

The threaded rod that is there to allow the bed to be raised up and down MOVES! In other words it looks like the bearing or mounting sleeve (whatever) that the threaded rod sits in moves, therefore the rod moves, therefore the table moves, therefore the board moves away from the cutters when it hits the last outfeed roller, which pushes the table down due to the NORMAL down pressure of the roller. Does that make sense. I don’t think it’s something I can fix

what does that mean? Major Snipe at the front of the board!

I would return it and buy Ed’s. You can be quaranted if there was a problem he would be there in a heart beat.

Way to go Hanif. This isn't the first time you've popped up in the middle of a Busy Bee Tools problem thread and offered to support your product. I like that you are listening to what we say and read what we post.
