    I turned the cutters on my general benchtop planer last fall. Nothing but trouble after. The registration points are poor and the cutter is too small and brittle IMO. It is the same as the 1st type. I like the looks of type 2, but have no experience.

      I have turned cutters on the Grizzly 12" jointer and the 20" Powermatic. No trouble with cut quality.
