  • Dewalt Planer

I have just noticed a local add which a guy is selling a 13" Dewalt Planer for $150 obo but is need of feed roller repair. I have emailed him to find out which model it is but does this sound like it might be a good deal? Anyone with either of the Dewalt planers care to comment, good, bad or otherwise.

    Thanks for your input

    Re: Dewalt Planer

what do you mean by feed roller repair? the rubber coating is wrecked? or much more severe internal problems?

the dewalt planers are good planers, but like any other lunchbox portable machine they are basically throwaways when they wear out, very costly to rebuild/repair

sounds like a parts donor machine to me thats probably seen some pretty hard use, ive had a 735 for several years with lots of use, still works like new but i dont mistreat it in anyway

Even the DeWalt DW735 has it's share of pro0blems, plus it's expensive for what it is in my opinion. Thats why I bought a Used Delta DC-33. It cost me more then $150, but it cost less then a DW735, and it should be around alot longer then me.

He didn't say exactly what the problem was with it but it turns out to be the 734 so i am going to pass on it anyway.
