  • Manuals for Old Beaver Rockwell Table saw Model 6201 and 34050

I am in the process of trying to restore (make useable) 2 old Beaver Rockwell table saws model 6201 and 34050. I was wondering if anyone has the manual or partslist for either of these saws. For some reason I can find a parts list for an 6201 ( but most parts are NLA ) but the 34050 does not show up. Both of these saws were Canadian made . I have a gear sector ordered for my 34050 ( my tool repair in town here had it listed) but I then found a free old 6201 (VERY RUSTY) that had a fair gear sector and it seems to be the same size.
Any Info on either would be appreciated.

              Hi
The 34050 saw. I have one and I would be interested in your progress of your restoration. I just put new bearings in mine after 32 years and I am interested in doing more if I knew what to do.
              Thanks Murray

Re: Manuals for Old Beaver Rockwell Table saw Model 6201 and 34050

My 34050 is nearly complete. I have ordered a gear sector for the blade lift but it still has not arrived . It cost me $26. I found a free old rusty 2601 ( which I needed also to repair my 2601 ) and took the gear sector out of it and put in my 34050. Works OK. From the old rusty 2601 I was able to salvage 2 adjusting wheels ( tilt and balde lift) another top extension and 2 side rails, and a rip fence so I will have a nice long top on my 2601. I think both will get a paint job.
I have found all my saws on Kijiji and have very little invested in both saws. Just gives me something to do. I have the manual for the 34050 but cannot seem to find anyone who has the manual for the 2601. I don't think there is any difference except the 2601 is a 9" but I would like a 2601 manual anyway.

I have an old 2601 which is missing the side rails. I tried to order them and was told they were not available. I ended up with another saw and this one turned into a work bench/junk collection table. from the parts break down these appear to be just round tube. If that is the case can you let me know the diameter and I could make some rails up. The rest of the saw is complete and in reasonable shape.

Re: Manuals for Old Beaver Rockwell Table saw Model 6201 and 34050

                    Mark:
The side rail I have off of the old rusty 2601 is as follows:

Solid steel rod ( chrome finish ) 3/4" OS diameter 29 5/8" long

                    Hole spacing from one end: (6 holes) 4 3/8", 7 3/8", 14 3/8", 17 3/8", 24 3/8", 27 3/8" (From end to center of each hole)

                    Hole spacing measured from other end: 2 1/4", 5 1/4", 12 1/4", 15 1/4",
                    22 1/4", 25 1/4" ( from end to center of each hole)

These holes are approx approx 3/8" dia half way through and 1/4" dia the rest of the way.
I would think these would be easy to make or have made, if you can find some 3/4" solid rod. I don't think the chrome would be necessary.

If I'm not mistaken you'll need some stand offs to position the rail away from the table???

I don't think so, my 6201 has a bit of a curved molded right on the table top and extension where the rails bolt on. The parts for the 6201 from Acetoolrepair.com show just the short Guide Bar ( rail ) and the mounting bolts. My 34050 has a bigger rail made out of approx 28.5 mm OS dia pipe. It has curved spacers between the pipe and the table top ( part # 422-16-104-0001 )

I am on the third sector gear on my saw. The replacements you buy certainly do not last as long as the original so it is good you could recope one. My saw needs a paint job also. I have a Sears 1 1/2 hp motor on mine and everything works great but I may sell it if I can find a good cabinet saw.

Bearings are relatively easy to replace and they are available at any bearing shop
