  • Delta 24" Scroll Saw

This saw was posted on Kijiji last thursday and on Sunday I finally gave in to my addiction. I really do not need this saw as I already have a newer 16" scroll saw nor do I really have the room in my shop but the lure of old iron was not to be denied.

I paid the asking price of $100 which seemed fine given it has a working retirement lamp. Anyway both seller and buyer were happy with the transaction so I guess that is what really counts.

The seller was an older fellow who had the saw for thirty tears but has not used it in the last 15. Even so when we flicked the switch she started right up and ran nice and quite. I put it around the late 1930's and it seems all original and in very good condition. Missing the blower tube and could use a new belt and power cord but thats pretty minor.

Needs a real good clean and I might even repaint , depending on what it looks like all cleaned up. Should make a good project for this winter.

For you fellow addicts I post the following pics

Jerome - Yes it is. I saw it about 5 minutes after it was listed but as mentioned did not pursue it until Sunday. Owner told me he got a call from someone in Hamilton about it but they decided Windsor was too far to go. Wonder if that was someone who is a member here? Maybe we need some kind of list of people willing to rucker/potter machines. Would probably work well on Ontario where the population is fairly dense (in a good way).
