  • HVLP turbine recommendation-Edmonton

    Howdy,

It's a funny thing. Machinery and tools always seem to malfunction or break out at very inconvenient times.

My Lemmer T-75 turbine just crapped out and I'm in the middle of spraying a job due Wednesday. Damn.

The Lemmer was purchased a few years ago and has a few hours on it but I must admit it certainly didn't last as long as I would have hoped.

I will not be purchasing another Lemmer.

Any suggestions for new turbine besides a Fuji?

I really don't need another gun just the turbine.

Any recommendations for something available in Edmonton would be appreciated.

    Thanx,

    Stan

the turbine is just a vacuum cleaner motor. Did you let the smoke out or what? I would go over it with a voltmeter. If the turbine's motor is burnt out, you should be able to replace it.

      Bryan,
      It's pooched.

That sounds good. I'll take it in and have it repaired. If it doesn't cost a ton I can keep it for a back- up or sell it.

What I do need to do is purchase a new one to complete the job.

try a vac repair shop. I had a vac fixed, all it needed was new brushes installed. I also bought a replacement motor, approx $125 for a central vac. I bought a fuji, from Busy bee, the low end model, wonderful little machine for home shop.

Have someone check it out before you decide on it. We sell alot of lemmer spray equipment including turbines. The turbines rarely fail. As mentioned above its really just a switch, a fan and a electric motor.

            Hi Stan,

Is there a reason why Fuji is out of the question?

Fuji is not out of the question.

If I can find a retailer that sells a fuji turbine without all the extra goodies.

              Also curious about other options.

Is it just the hose that you don't want to pay for, Stan??

                  Wally,

Just need the turbine. An extra hose would be okay as the one I'm using is getting pretty banged up.

What I don't need ( and would rather not pay for) is the gun ( I've already got five , 2 fuji, 2 turbinaire and one piece of junk Lemmer).

I suppose I could always sell the spray gun (if there are no other options) from the kit.

Did you phone and ask if they sold one without the gun?? I heard there was a couple that did sell with only the hose. I could check in about an hour for you if you like.

                      Wally,

                      Thanx. I appreciate the offer.

I'm heading out to Sprayer Rescue ( with pooched Lemmer in tow) this morning to see what they can do to remedy the situation.

( Probably much more fun if I had a Lemur rather than a lemmer)

They might even have re-conditioned units for sale ?

Busy Bee will be the next stop ( it's just down the road) if I can't get a solution from Sprayer Rescue.

I'm interested in what you did as well. I'm in YEG and will be looking to get another Fiji gun in a couple months. So if you had to buy a kit, I'd chat with you about buying the gun.

Lance at Sprayer rescue is very busy, can't fix Lemmer turbine for awhile, doesn't have any reconditioned units and wasn't sure if he could sell just the turbine from Lemmer packages.

Busy Bee can't/won't separate packages and sell just turbine.

I've got to decide which unit to purchase. Will probably go with the Q4, not sure I need the Q5.

Will let you know if I'm going to sell the gun Peter.

                            Thanx
