  • Cedar strip canoe topcoat

Group, I have a cedar strip canoe, fibreglassed, that could use a surface refresh. I plan to do a light sand, and could use some advice on a topcoat. No idea what the current finish would be. Is spar varnish the safest bet? thanks

You want a good quality spar varnish like Epifanes or Pettit Z Spar, look for it at a marine supply store not one of the big box stores.

My marine experience was with Sikkens, and I was happy.

            That looks pretty good.
But I want to see it in the water.
