  • Would you paint this night stands before assembly or after or combination?

    Hi

I need to paint of white two night stands (photos of dry fit attached). I plan to use Benjamin Moore "Advance Waterborne Interior Alkyd Paint". I do not own spray gun and plan to use roller or brush. Would you suggest to finish it before or after assembly or combination (panels on the sides and back before and the rest after)?

I'm eye-balling earlex 5500 for quite a while. How would you suggest to finsish it with if i had spray gun?

Just went through this learning curve with the TV stand. I discovered Zinsser Bins primer. Dries hard sandable white and fills hidden divots/defects that will show up after painting if not primed. If you have an air compressor, take a look at the $50 Critter spray gun, which I also just discovered for that project.

While I have used the Earlex and find it pretty good, the lack of an air control is an issue, at least with me. You may wish to look at the new Fuji semi pro for about the same price as the Earlex (at Busy Bee). As for finishing, I would do as much as is practical (taping off tenons and mortises) prior to assembly. It works for me. BTW, no relation to Fuji, BB, etc., just happy customer.
