  • ebonizing red oak

    I have joined two pieces of oak that have been sanded to 180 grit, treated with black tea and then iron acetate but one of the two pieces is still lighter than the other. Could the grit be too fine to allow proper penetration?

    Go your local art supply store and get some India Ink.

      I've had good luck with this process on other pieces but I'm trying to figure out why some of the wood is resisting.
